Google’s growing involvement in Web3 and blockchain has gone a step further with a development that aims to serve new-age developers.
Google Cloud, a subsection of the internet powerhouse, has launched a remote procedure call (RPC) on the Ethereum blockchain network. With this service, Web3 developers can place an API call to obtain access to certain information on the blockchain network.
To mitigate the hassles of integration, Google Cloud built the service to function with the Ethereum JSON-RPC feature. Thanks to this feature, developers can easily merge the RPC service with their already built applications with the least effort.
It is worth noting that Google Cloud is on a mission to provide advanced opportunities for Web3 companies. These opportunities are expected to assist the companies in developing bigger digital assets and create peculiar user experiences for users on their platforms. These opportunities include on-chain data analysis that provides real-time data on nodes and network metrics.
Also, the Cloud KMS service helps Web3 developers monitor encryption keys, among others. Despite these and other services provided by Google Cloud for the Web3 industry, the newly launched RPC service will increase developer access to data and operations on the blockchain network.
At the time of its launch, the RPC service was tested and proven for compatibility with the Ethereum mainnet alongside its test networks. It is expected that other blockchains will soon join the list of supported networks. The additions are believed to be made next year.
As announced by Google Cloud, the RPC service serves a wide range of developers. Whether you are just beginning your web3 startup, seeking an entry point, or you run an established web3 enterprise that requires an organized structure for blockchain data computing, the Blockchain RPC service is designed to cater to your needs.
Google Cloud’s RPC service is not the first RPC service. However, it is expected to give other platforms such as Ankr and Alchemy a run for their money. A competitive advantage for Google Cloud’s RPC is its inclusion of a zero-cost plan, which allows about 100 queries in a second.
