Peter Brandt Says Altcoins are to Bitcoin What Lead is to Gold as BTC Dominates by 70.1%

Dash Launches 1st Internet free Blockchain Charity System, Pilots 1,000 Lunches & 900 Beverages

The series of blockchain powered charity schemes in the society have made Dash cryptographic project device a better means that would suite the immediate needs of the needy without the hassle of connecting to internet.

Flagged as the first of its type, Dash launched a new charity system powered by its SMS-based wallet, and this marked the world’s first distributed charity model.

The SMS-based Dash wallet service allows benefactors send dough to beneficiary with Dash currency through the specified donation address, and the fund will be immediately distributed among the pool of end recipients. All these are done without the need of internet service, thus eliminating the need for transaction confirmation and time needed for such.

The update noted that while the project is still in its pilot stage, the charity system, at the moment, targets buying school lunch for 50 needy students at the San Antonio school in Caracas. Since the inception of the program, the average of 60 transactions per day achieved has been used to cater for 1,000 lunches and 900 beverages.

The cofounder of Dash Text wallet, Lorenzo Rey, hyped the program as a very useful one as it allows complete execution of donation from benefactor to receiver within few seconds:

“Whenever someone makes a donation through our system, the money gets immediately and equally distributed amongst the people you’re donating to, this is completely transparent and traceable on the blockchain, the money is never touched by a human third party inside our system, it is all automated and happens in just a few seconds. Recipients receive a confirmation SMS which might include the name and country of the person who donated. There is no system like this in the world today, all charity donations, including crypto charities right now require some sort of human intermediation,” Lorenzo stated.

Dash SMS Wallet, A Major Boost For Venezuelans Amid Looming Hurdles

As for Dash blockchain foundation, the SMS based charity program is the latest of its innovations in town. While Venezuela continues to face its incessant poor economic and infrastructure issues underpinned by inflation, the Dash SMS based charity program would likely their emancipator.

Furthermore, Dash recently partnered Bitrefill, a mobile top-up and gift card service provider, to launch a donation campaign for Venezuelans where the cost of topping up mobile phone were slashed through the integration of Dash Text.

This would help tackle the recent power and internet blackouts in Venezuela. With the aim of raising fund for 1,000 refills, the scheme would be used to buy phone credit for those unable to reach loved.

Lorenzo believes that of the entire charity programs piloted by crypto projects, Dash blockchain technology seems to be offering the best.

“Yes, many crypto projects have been making charitable donations for Venezuela, and we applaud those efforts, but most of them are giving people food, not crypto. I’m a big believer in giving people the fishing rod, not the fish, and for the first time we can give cryptocurrency directly and automatically to those people so they can use it by themselves. They are buying food, but they’re also learning and using crypto in their daily lives, how amazing is that, Dash is helping people out while at the same time getting new users, more transactions and more adoption!,” Lorenzo confirmed.
