Cardano’s efforts to promote blockchain use cases and increase adoption appear to be paying off, as the network prepares to present its future plans to Argentina’s president.
Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Input Output Global (IOG) and co-founder of the Cardano blockchain, announced that he will travel to Argentina for the Buenos Aires Cardano Summit and Tech Forum Argentina. During the event, Hoskinson will meet with the local Cardano community and enthusiasts. He also mentioned that he will have the opportunity to speak publicly and present the future of Cardano’s blockchain technology to Argentina’s president, Javier Milei, as well as other attendees.
Hoskinson’s speech at the summit will cover various topics related to the Cardano network, including its next roadmap after the Voltaire era, as well as growth and marketing strategies.
While Cardano’s annual flagship summit will be held at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 23-24, 2024, Hoskinson stated that he will not attend that event due to his commitments in Argentina. The Tech Forum Argentina will take place on October 19, while the Buenos Aires Cardano Summit is scheduled for October 24.
Argentina is at the forefront of cryptocurrency adoption. Among countries in the Western Hemisphere, Argentina has the highest per capita adoption of cryptocurrency, according to Forbes, citing Similarweb data. Reuters also reported that Argentina registered $85.4 billion in crypto transactions last year, making it one of the world’s largest crypto markets.
Cardano’s presence in Argentina could pave the way for further collaboration with the government. In June, Cardano announced a partnership with the Argentine province of Entre Ríos, aimed at boosting blockchain technology adoption in the country.
