American entrepreneur and co-founder of the Input Output Global (IOG) blockchain company, Charles Hoskinson, has responded to a partnership proposal from the Polkadot community, expressing his admiration for the blockchain network and stating that a collaboration between Polkadot and Cardano would benefit the entire blockchain ecosystem.
The initial call for partnership came from a prominent member of the Polkadot community, who goes by the Twitter handle “Polkadot Leader.” In his statement, he praised the Cardano blockchain as an important and truly decentralized project in the ecosystem. Referring to Polkadot as another truly decentralized blockchain, the community leader suggested that a partnership between the two networks could create something significant.
“The two best DAOs in the world need to band together to make an impact,” the community leader added, awaiting a response from both communities.
Hoskinson, co-founder of the Cardano blockchain network, responded by saying he had always viewed Polkadot as a potential member of Cardano’s extended family. He further praised Polkadot’s creator, Gavin Wood, calling him a “brilliant protocol designer” from whom everyone in the blockchain ecosystem has learned something.
“Cardano and Polkadot are friends forever,” Hoskinson stated.
The Polkadot community leader then inquired if Hoskinson had any ideas on how the collaboration could be realized. In response, Hoskinson, a Colorado-based technology entrepreneur and mathematician, mentioned the recent changes in Cardano’s governance structure. He then encouraged the Polkadot community leader to take an active role in the discussions.
“Cardano has a government now. Take an active role in the conversations. Join Intersect and make friends with your local dRep,” Hoskinson advised.
The Polkadot community leader agreed, suggesting that both communities could start by sharing ideas and use cases to explore how the partnership might take shape. They would then wait for Cardano’s governance to approve any partnership proposal.
A prominent member of the Cardano community, who is also enthusiastic about the potential partnership, weighed in on the conversation, revealing that he had already held initial discussions with the Polkadot community leader and expressed hope that the collaboration would come to fruition.
